Rev. Luis Acosta

 Pastor for Hispanic Ministry

Pastor Luis Acosta was born in the Columbian city of Sincelejo and moved to Venezuela with his family when he was nine years old.  He remained there until 1999 when he moved to Miami, Florida.  While living in Miami, Luis and his wife, Carolina began attending Divine Savior Lutheran Church where their faith grew in ways they never imagined.  Luis began studying at the Institute: Cristo Palabra de Vida (WELS PSI Latino Program) where he completed the Congregational Assistant Program.  He received a Divine Call in 2004 and began his work at Divine Savior as Staff Minister.  In 2007, the family moved to Wisconsin so that Luis could complete his pastoral studies at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. Before receiving the call to Risen Savior, Pastor Acosta served as Hispanic deacon at Christ and St. Peter Lutheran Church in Milwaukee.
