Message from Wayne Baxmann, Chairman of Congregation
Risen Savior Lutheran Church and School is located at 96th
and Brown Deer Road on Milwaukee’s northwest side. We are a church-group that reflects our diverse community – Caucasian, Hispanic and African-American. Folks who are part of our church family come from all walks of life and are of many different age groups.
We seek to share God’s Word and put Christ’s love into action in our community and around the world. Our numerous outreach efforts are evidence of our desire to reflect the love of Christ in our neighborhood. In order to accomplish our world-wide effort we are part of a much bigger church body called the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS.)
At Risen Savior we gather around God’s Word as friends, growing in faith together and sharing God’s love through the faithful teaching of the Bible and administering the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion. By growing in faith we become brothers and sisters of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and through Him we look forward to spending Eternity with Him in Heaven.
While we wait for our opportunity to enter Eternal Life our aim is to grow stronger in our faith and serve the community with the message that Jesus came to save all of mankind from their world of sin. We accomplish this through various means. We gather for meaningful worship during weekly services, we have numerous opportunities for group Bible study at various times and we participate in multiple ministries to meet the needs of the people we serve. We also provide full-time Christian education through our elementary school from grades K-4 to 8th
We invite you to join us in growing in the joy and peace of the Christian faith and life that comes from believing the words of Jesus: “Because I live, you also will live.” (John 14:19)
We would truly be honored if you stopped by to meet us and to learn more about our Savior Jesus Christ.
In the service of our Risen Savior,
Wayne Baxmann, Chairman
