Opportunities
Remember this: The person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the person who sows generously will also reap generously. Each person should do as he has decided in his heart—not reluctantly or out of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver.2 Corinthians 9:6-7

One aspect of our lives as God's people is providing financial offerings to support the work of sharing the gospel in our church and school, as well as in our shared ministry as a high school conference and a synodical church body with our mission program.

In God's word we find the principles of "firstfruit" and "special gift" giving.  Firstfruit offerings are the gifts we give "off the top" of our earthly blessings as an expression of gratitude to our Lord.  We encourage people to give a percentage of their income as a firstfruit gift in proportion to how they have been blessed.  We will want to be as generous as our circumstances allow us to be.

Special gifts are gifts "over and above" our regular firstfruit offerings for those who are able to also contribute in this way.  Typically, special gifts may be gifts given on special occasions, such as for funeral memorials or anniversary thank offerings. While everyone who receives income is a firstfruit giver, that is not necessarily the case when it comes to special gifts.  We ask that people pray and consider what they may be able to do in connection with special gift opportunities.
